A Strata ApprovedRoof Restoration Block of 4 Units

This 1930s block of four units in Bondi had a common problem: an aging roof with countless patch repairs that just weren't cutting it anymore. The front facade, in particular, was in need of a serious overhaul. Our client's goal was to provide a durable, long-lasting solution, moving away from the old concrete tiles to a modern, robust Colorbond system.

For the Cloud9 Roofing team, this project involved a comprehensive partial roof replacement to the front facade. We started by stripping the old concrete tiles and installing a 55mm insulation blanket and new timber batons. This was followed by the supply and fitting of new 0.48 Colorbond custom orb roof sheets, complete with custom flashing around the chimney, valleys, and ridge caps to seamlessly join the new and old roof sections. We also replaced the gutters with Ace mini line gutters and connected them to the existing downpipes.

We also addressed the rear section of the building, replacing three rusted sheets and joining new sections to ensure a uniform and protected surface. Finally, we pressure cleaned the existing rear roof and applied a three-coat system—one coat of metal primer and two coats of Nu-Tech roof membrane paint. This crucial step will prevent future wear and tear on the plain metal sheets, extending the life of the entire roof.
