Our client had newly moved into this property and discovered they had two separate leaks, one from a severely rusted skylight frame and another that unfortunately led to a ceiling collapse. We were able to address both issues with a comprehensive and lasting solution.

Our Solution to a Complex Problem

The first step was to deal with the problematic skylight. The old, rusted frame was a major weak point. We carefully removed it and custom-installed a brand new, double-glazed, fixed skylight. This modern skylight has a non-vented frame, specifically designed for a corrugated roof to ensure a watertight seal. This upgrade not only stops the leak but also provides better insulation.

For the second leak, which had caused a section of the ceiling to fail, the issue was related to faulty flashing. Water was pooling in channels where the pitched and flat metal roofs met. To fix this, we performed a meticulous repair. We supplied and fitted a new backtray to properly redirect water flow away from the roof's weak points. Then, we removed the existing, failing transition flashing and installed a new custom Colorbond transition flashing. This custom piece now provides a seamless barrier, preventing future leaks and protecting the home's interior.
